Greetings to our clients and contacts!
It is truly an amazing statement for us to make, but believe it or not, as a practice we have achieved 20 years in business!!!
It has been a fascinating journey and certainly not a straight forward one, but one thing is for sure, we have met and worked with some great staff, clients and consultants along the way.
Within this time, we have moved around a few office locations but are now certainly happy and settled in our Colebrook office.
I wanted to give just a little summary of some of the significant changes which have happened in recent times and what the immediate future holds for Best Accountancy.
Many of you will remember back in July 2021 where we were unfortunately victims of a particularly bad cyber-attack. This has resulted in some heavy investment into our IT infrastructure. We are now on our own secure lease line for internet and telephone. We have replaced every computer for all staff with new laptops and security. Our systems are fully cloud based and we can operate and access what we need from any location. This has resulted in making us very versatile and efficient.
We have invested in attending the “Accountex” exhibitions to ensure we are aware of the market leading software and advisory services we should be looking to help and improve our clients experience and businesses. In this respect we will soon be launching a very unique service called “Clarity” to our rapidly growing client base, which I am hoping many clients will wish to embrace, it will make a real difference to their businesses and lives.
Overall, the plan of Best Accountancy is to always expand and improve its services to our clients and by far the most important investment so far has been in its staff. Over the last 2 months we have added to our staff number across all departments and have even created a brand new role. We will soon be updating our website so you can put faces to the names of all the team, new and old. Here are our new team members:
Gina Taylor – Experienced Senior Bookkeeper
Jo Grove – Experienced Bookkeeper
Scott Taylor – Senior Corporate and Non-Corporate Accountant
Emily Hakin – Office Administrator and Client Liaison
George Goodwin – Trainee Accounts
This takes our squad number to 14.
There is a big test looming ahead for the firm with “Making Tax Digital for Self Assessment” and we have made sure that we are working on the road map to get as many of our clients ready for this change. We are extremely proud to have been the first practice in the country to test the governments BETA scheme with Xero and already are filing some clients on the new quarterly regime.
Many clients will be contacted in respect of the MTD changes and you must all be ready to embrace it, there will be no choice, so please do get ahead of the rest and make the changes necessary. We are here to help and guide all of you who need it.
Lastly, we want to say a huge thank you to all our clients for trusting us with your affairs, we really do appreciate it. We are very excited about where the practice is heading and hope to help all of you for many more years.
